Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can you break the connection over and over without causing any service problems?
A: Yes, you can connect and disconnect the access as often as you wish.
Q: Would this be placed between DSL or Cable router and the service Provider(ISP-PSN) or between the switch / router and the workstations?
A: The most popular placement is between the DSL Router/Modem (or Cable Modem) and a PC. If you have a network and you wish to isolate one PC from the rest with a simple push of a button you can use our patented Network Security Switch, or if you want to secure the whole network you can place it on the uplink port of your Hub / Switch and take your whole network offline with the only Layer One Security Device on the market today.
Q: Can this protect my wireless?
A: Yes, you can also place it between a DSL router or cable modem and your wireless access point to keep unwanted trolls from stealing your bandwidth.
Q: Does it require power?
A: No, not even a little! Doesn't care about power outages, or restarts, or even software ... not at all.
Q: My modem has three connections: the power cord, the line to the computer, and the line to the telephone jack (thru a DSL filter). I assume the line to the computer would go thru the switch, and the switch would be connected to the computer. At present, I disconnect the power cord when I am not using the modem. Since the power cord would still be connected, would all the modem lights remain on and the modem be immediately connected to the network when the switch is turned on, thereby removing the delay which now occurs while the lights blink until the system is
connected to the net?
A: You Are Exactly Correct. Place the switch between your DSL Modem and your Computer (or network hub). The switch will allow for the Modem to continue to operate normally however the computer will be offline. Then when YOU decide to be online you simply push the button and your computer can access the internet
